Employment by sector and contract type

Number of employed people by industrial sector and contract type. The employment statuses are as follows:

• full-time hours covers staff contracted to work more than 25 hours per week

• part-time hours covers staff contracted to work 25 hours per week or fewer

• zero-hours covers staff who do not have contracted hours

• exempt covers staff who have registered residential status but their employer is exempt from counting them as such for business licencing purposes

Undertakings are classified using the UK Standard Industrial Classification 2007 system.
